That didn't take long

Courtesy of the guys over at www.25stanley.com comes a shot of Scott Gomez enjoying some drinks with Mad Max Lapierre during a recent visit to Montreal.

I'm not sure where it is, but anyone who watched the TV series about Mathieu Dandenault's wife re-modelling Lapierre's bachelor pad in Brossard may be able to recognize the background here.

Let the "too much partying, not enough focus" rumours start flying.

better trade him now before the K brothers get wind of this and really turn him into a party animal :) ...bring back the bad ole days when guys like Lafleur, Corson, Chelios, Keane and others (maybe even Bob) would rule the Montreal nightlife but everyone including the club took it in stride

wonder if guys like the Rocket, Joliat, Beliveau ever had a pop or few after a game ?

You're right. the partying rumors will start again and ppl will go crazy like always. most habs fans are stupid and don't realize that not all players are party animals. Gomez has a lot of experience and i'm sure he's not gonna be a dick like some of the other players(and some of the fans haha)

I'm not sure what we can take from this photo... other than the likelihood that Laps will continue to get more pussy than Gomez regardless of Gomez' fat contract. Which brings up a good point, what are the marital statuses of the three incoming forwards? Gomez, Gionta, Cammy? Are they destined to have shit seasons because they'll be chasing tail and boogersugar around the city whenever they get the chance? Or are they good family men?

If they are winning = no one will care if they're too drunk to walk when not on the ice.

If they're not winning = anytime they have a beverage somewhere and someone snaps a shot... it will begin.

Hopefully, there's a happy middle.

Montreal, for the most part, is still a safe place for players and management to go out for a few wobbly pops and be left alone.

Anyone who has ever been to Hurley's after a Saturday night tilt at the Bell Centre had rubbed elbows with members of Les Glorieux. For the most part they're completely left alone.

You're even apt to stumble upon the odd media type while you're there. I must admit to seeing our good friend Arpon enjoying a post-game pint on more than one occasion.

Hurleys usually has more media than players. Even saw Gainey and Muller there a couple of times. Not together though. I think that pic was taken at TNT on Cresent. I've seen Max there with his buddies a couple of times.

Besides, it's the bloody off-season. We shouldn't expect them to be saints all bloody year long.
